Easy Temaki Sushi (Hand Roll) Recipe

Temaki Sushi (Temakizushi) is the easiest to make in all different types of sushi. The shape looks like an ice cream cone and the appearance is very  attractive. It is often made at parties in Japan. Even small children can make it easily, so it is recommended for the first time to try handmade sushi.

What is Temaki Sushi (Hand Roll)?

Temaki is sushi in the hand roll form like an ice cream cone, otherwise known as “hand roll sushi” in English. Typically, they are made from sushi rice with raw fish, vegetables, or other fillings enclosed in a nori cone. The main differences between Maki sushi and Temaki is the shape and temaki is much easier to make. Temaki is usually served at parties or gatherings at home, where the various ingredients are spread out in bowls or platters on the table for guests to pick and choose their fillings and flavor combinations.


Easy Temaki Sushi (Hand Roll) Recipe


Ingredients :

  • Sushi rice Here's an easy recipe for sushi rice.

  • Nori sheet (approximately 8”x 7”) 

  • Fillings: whatever your favorite Ex.) Tuna, cucumber and shiso. Salmon and  avocado. Cooked meat and lettuce.


Directions:

1. Cut the nori sheet in half.



2. Place sushi rice on the left side from the center of the nori and form a triangle. Use a small amount of rice (about 50g).



3. Place your favorite ingredients on the center of the rice at a diagonal angle to the left.



4.  Wrap the bottom left corner of the nori in the upper right direction.



5. Place the Temaki Sushi on a plate. Temaki sushi party is ready!
